  • Welcome to St. Jude Faith Formation for students in Preschool through High School! At St. Jude, we offer a variety of opportunities that teach the rich traditions of our Catholic faith.

Here is a decription of all of our programs.  See the calendar by clicking this link: /documents/2019/10/2019-20%20Formation%20calendar-1.pdf

Children’s Masses are held on the 2nd Sunday of each month.  Children of all ages are invited to join Fr. Bob on the steps in the Sanctuary to hear a gospel message geared for the young.  Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14

Children’s Liturgy of the Word and Wee Believers programs are for children 4 years through 2nd grade so that they are able to hear the Mass on their own level of faith. Our experienced catechists break open the Word in a way that even the youngest members can apply it to their life!  After the Liturgy of the Word, 1st and 2nd grade students return to their families in the Sanctuary to participate in the Liturgy of the Eucharist while Preschool and Kindergarten students stay back to reinforce the lesson with an activity or craft.  CLW and Wee Believer’s follow the academic calendar and are not offered during holidays or school breaks.

    Faith Formation program descriptions

Traditional Faith Formation is offered weekly, 26 times a year, from 9:30-10:45am on Sunday during the academic year.  Sessions are not held on holidays or school breaks.  Groups of 12 children meet with a catechist and assistant to learn the provided curriculum and the traditions of our faith.

Family Faith Formation is an opportunity to take charge of your family’s faith and instruct lessons at home.  This program is for children in grades 1-4 and for students who need an adapted lesson. Curriculum and lesson plans are provided.  Monthly large group meetings (3rd Thursday of every month) are required, giving each student a chance to connect to their church family.  Monthly meeting will be based on review using games, service projects, and prayer as tools.  A healthy snack will be provided.

The new Faith Formation program for students in grades 5-7 is online instruction through My Catholic Faith Delivered .  Weekly assignments are provided and monitored so that the students can work within their own busy schedules.  Middle School Youth Group is available to all students monthly to help them to remain in community with their peers.  Families are encouraged to participate in church life by signing up as a family to be hospitality ministers (greeters, ushers, offertory) at one mass during the year and other St. Jude functions.

8th grade Faith Formation/Confirmation I is a 13 session program that spotlights discussion and critical thinking to guide students into a relationship with God. Consistant attendance is required to proceed to Confirmation II so each session will be offered twice to the students.  8th grade students are also invited to Youth Fusion Youth Group on the second Sunday evening of each month.

Rooted is an opportunity for high school aged students (9-12 grade) to gather together with peers, grow in faith, and have a lot of fun in the process.  There are 19 Sunday night sessions, a retreat, and service events throughout the year.
