Since the Dresser Mission is on vacation until after Easter, I thought I would give a little background for those of you who are new to The Catholic Community of St Jude. The Dresser Ministry will place in the gathering space a piece of furniture for a nursery. Along side the furniture will be a wish board with items necessary for a new baby.
Individuals may choose a tag, purchase the item, and return it to the gathering space. After several weeks the items, along with the furniture, are donated to a Christian based program to assist women who have chosen to keep their babies.
Everything that is donated is greatly appreciated,
If you have any questions or know of someone that would benefit from this ministry, please don't hesitate to contact Leslie Feldpausch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For the past several years, the dressers that all of you so kindly filled, have been delivered to Shared Pregnancy in Lansing. This is a Christian based crisis shelter that provides care to parents and their babies, and young women who have made the decision to keep their babies. I would like to continue to provide dressers to them or to anyone that comes to us in need.
The women and men seeking assistance from Shared Pregnancy are not just given the items that have been donated. They have to earn points in order obtain what they need. They can earn points by attending parenting classes, for both women and men, watching parenting videos and discussing the contents with a staff member, reading chapters in the book What to Expect When Expecting and answering questions from the staff, or attending play and learn classes with their children.
For more information please contact Leslie Feldpausch at 517-669-9264 or by email email@example.com. If anyone knows of an individual or family that could benefit from one of our
dressers, please let me know. Confidentiality is strictly enforced.
