Catholic Community of St. Jude at 409 Wilson St., DeWitt, MI 48820 US - Ushers Club
| Ushers Club |
These ministers of hospitality assist our parish community at Masses in several ways: by welcoming, assisting some in seating, taking up our offertory collection, monitoring the communion procession, distributing programs and bulletins, and general housekeeping after the liturgy. Our ushers are men and women 16 years of age and up. Ushers are scheduled individually and work on a rotating basis at their Mass of preference throughout the year.
If you would like to become an usher, please contact any of the officiers for training at your convenience. Ushers serve an average of once per month and are an important part of the Liturgy. Anyone over 16, Male or female can be an usher. With many of our ushers retiring we need fresh faces to fill the roster.
The Ushers Club also hosts an annual Christmas Tree sale, a 50/50 Raffle and cleans a stretch of highway in the Adopt a Highway program. Officers are elected to 2 year terms.
Current officers are President: Dennis Locher, Treasurer: Ray Taylor. Vice President; Pete McKinnon. Meetings are the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30PM in the hospitality Room.
Congratulations Ray Drake for being named Usher of the Year 2009. Your time and efforts are very much appreciated.
